i-Land

i-Land is the first piece of a series which began as a way to study the Diorama Map series from a new point of view. Not choosing a specific city as a motif, I created a collage of an imaginary world using the photographs which were shot in various place in Japan.

The Diorama Map series follows a step of recreation of a certain city from my own memory, yet for i-Land, by shifting a real world into my imaginary world, these two world which seemingly look opposite are in fact, are interacting each other with a definite balance and that always brings a certain relationship like a mirror for my own creative process.
